OpenAI is out for all wrappers - I said it, now it's happened

From openAI - We’re rolling out custom versions of ChatGPT that you can create for a specific purpose—called GPTs. GPTs are a new way for anyone to create a tailored version of ChatGPT to be more helpful in their daily life, at specific tasks, at work, or at home—and then share that creation...

OpenAI is out for all wrappers - I said it, now it's happened

Wrapper startups can only hope that companies will subscribe to their service instead implement their own custom wrapper.

OpenAI is out for all wrappers - I said it, now it's happened

@marissavchon61 So I agree that any wrapper that really provides true value other than simply wrap AI in a specific service will survive. But majority of YC's AI startups are simply wrappers. Meddisearch simply tried to make chatGPT answer only health questions, still if you ask it nonhealth...

OpenAI is out for all wrappers - I said it, now it's happened

@marissavchon61 You think? Or they can pay $10k for it once (even less soon enough) and own it forever. The future of AI is 'open'.

Not getting interview invite is fine but ..

@luanvan24 Just focus on your product, I have 1500 users now, about 300 gotten in the last few weeks I've been waiting for YC. If they visited, I wouldn't be able to tell them apart but no interview yet and I am launching new improvements everyday. Also I've started making revenue but I have not...

OpenAI is out for all wrappers - I said it, now it's happened

OpenAI has now made it possible for ordinary people to create wrappers. I said it here - that it will happen. I thought openAI will charge more, they didn't, instead they opened the market to the general public. With one blow, openAI has killed all wrappers (such wisdom). And now, YC's $500k...

W24 applications view first by 3 alumni then by 4 advisors, and then?

@heartsrose74 You mean someone visited your website that no one knows about? And you automatically assume it's YC? Have you heard of Google crawlers? Robots? Google search?

YC mods scrubbing posts they don't like

@ieltsielts You seem not to have gotten the implication of competition. The market is now open. These startups aren't as valuable as they would have been. They may not fail, but they definitely won't make as much as they could if openAI didn't make creating wrappers so simple that it needs no...

YC mods scrubbing posts they don't like

@johnhus1966 And I think if you have any insight, you'll realize that YC got the message. Else they won't delete the post. Also you'll realize that posting on public forum means the community will see it. Also you'll realize that, alas, I was right after openAI's devday. That's all I have...

YC mods scrubbing posts they don't like

@johnhus1966 Simple notification that YC should be wary of.

YC mods scrubbing posts they don't like

@greekorthodox123456 Yeah. That was my post. I noticed they removed it. It's such a harmless notification. I guess I touched more nerves at YC than on Reddit.
