160 of Y Combinators 229 Startup Cohort are AI Startups with and 75% of the Cohort has 0 revenue

@eyexscreamx4xjesus This should be downvoted, not sure if you're intentionally writing cliick biat titles for malicious purposes or what. 75% of the batch HAD 0 revenue when joining YC. If you attended demo day today, you'd know that number is much lower now. In fact, wouldn't be surprised if...

AMA [W23] - My journey from $0 to $5k MRR in 6 months, and why I decided to pivot

@sunshine1973 Ty! We won't integrate with AI agents, we'll build our own.

@thekla Thank you for reading :) Would you have done anything differently?

AMA [W23] - My journey from $0 to $5k MRR in 6 months, and why I decided to pivot

@mccree79 Haha, not quite! It helps a ton to be in a small, rapidly growing market (aka people want this)

AMA [W23] - My journey from $0 to $5k MRR in 6 months, and why I decided to pivot

@kimmac23 YC is great but we actually haven't launched the new product publicly with YC yet :) You can see from my launch post what the strategy was, will post about it in more detail next week but what has been working great for us is shipping new LLM capabilities to our users as soon as they...

I interviewed 3 YC founders on pricing AI products (they all hate usage-based)

@cornbreadfed614 Our experience (DevOps B2C/B, PLG) has been the same as Ellipsis', most people asking for usage-based pricing are hobbyists. It never comes up with enterprise or prosumer. If anything, they explicitly ask for fixed pricing.

AMA [W23] - My journey from $0 to $5k MRR in 6 months, and why I decided to pivot

@ilovejesusandbeads Yes sir! New product is growing much rapidly in every metric. For example, usedouble.com 1 month in had ~$100 MRR, and double.bot 1 month in had ~$2400 MRR. The user base is also growing much rapidly, and feedback is overwhelmingly positive.

AMA [W23] - My journey from $0 to $5k MRR in 6 months, and why I decided to pivot

@iamdayton That's right, exclusively focused on double.bot now. Previous product MRR dropped a bit when we pivoted because we cancelled some of our bigger $500/mo+ contracts once we knew we could not deliver the same quality of service/updates. We also switched the product to a full...

AMA [W23] - My journey from $0 to $5k MRR in 6 months, and why I decided to pivot

@haydenbehm We didn't get into YC with $5K MRR, we got in with $0 MRR. This is not uncommon, some people reach demo day with no revenue, some people get into YC with an idea :)

AMA [W23] - My journey from $0 to $5k MRR in 6 months, and why I decided to pivot

@thelonemusician28 Thank you for taking the time to read! That's an interesting idea. The simplest approach would be, start by looking at what's out there given that it's not entirely a 100% new idea. For example within YC CodeParrot and Magic Patterns might match the description of a Design...

AMA [W23] - My journey from $0 to $5k MRR in 6 months, and why I decided to pivot

@calpastor Thank you for reading, and appreciate the kind words :) That's a great question. We're wrapping up fund raising right now and will have more to share soon. The way I see it, this copilot is only the first step in our master plan to create a model to automate SWE from ticket to PR. In...

AMA [W23] - My journey from $0 to $5k MRR in 6 months, and why I decided to pivot

@oyinkan This is genius! The other day I also saw someone use their prospect's LinkedIn profile picture to generate an AI picture of them in a way that catches attention (bit more cliche and corny than your example). Honestly that's what I found so exciting about working in sales tech...

AMA [W23] - My journey from $0 to $5k MRR in 6 months, and why I decided to pivot

@oyinkan Appreciate the kind words! I think we'll share more often :) Our campaigns were for our enrichment product itself, a tool to build in-app surveys for mobile apps and SaaS tools, and a credit cards & expense management platform. It's interesting because the latter two had issues with...

AMA [W23] - My journey from $0 to $5k MRR in 6 months, and why I decided to pivot

@frishy You are right that I said we set off to fix our own inventory management problem and then I didn't mention inventory management ever again :) At the time we looked elsewhere because we were a bit jaded with the grocery delivery business (slim margins + small number of players = small...
