LLC, elected to file as an S-Corp don’t know what I’m doing with taxes

@jack1998 You can convert it to a new entity type but it’s not trivial as in you’ll probably need a lawyer and accountant to help you do it correctly. It would probably be more cost effective to shutter/throwaway your s-corp and make a new entity. Although that involves paperwork too. So maybe...

Bookkeeper went 4-7 hours over her estimate but didn’t check in before billing me

@plaura94515 I haven’t used it much as I decided Odoo was a better fit for me, but my wife is going to switch over to xero from QBO. Main things I liked were: 1. Speed, it doesn’t take waiting 5 seconds after every click for something to happen. 2. Software isn’t glitchy, I don’t have to use...

    Concern for sister’s startup

@thomashop You can give advice if asked, it’s not your kid or place to intercede if your help isn’t wanted. They are all adults and can make their own decisions. I tend to agree that it’s a bad idea but we’re only getting your perspective, but if she’s talented experience might not matter as...

    Hiring a W-2 employee

@archer454 I’d recommend Gusto for payroll, which is what my accountant recommended. Could I do it myself?Probably, but is it worth my time? No, it’s not. Gusto takes care of state local and federal filings. It walks you through getting the right tax ids and getting setup. Then it’s autopilot...

Proving invoices were sent and getting timely payment?

@smilingbluebug Yea my system tells me they've read it, but a lot of customers have an automated ingestion system, so i don't know that a human actually looks at it. All my emails include the PDF as well as a webportal link. I think sometimes the bot says "I dunno what this is -> trash."...

Proving invoices were sent and getting timely payment?

A lot of my customers pay late. I’ve setup automated reminders through my business software, and I get bounce notifications if emails bounce so I know they didn’t bounce. I also have a copy bcc’d to an address at my domain, so I know that my software is sending them and the mail server is...
