Bookkeeper went 4-7 hours over her estimate but didn’t check in before billing me

@geronimobutler Its not that unusual - they prob quoted a price then op shows up with all their receipts for the year in a shoebox. Why I stopped doing this. You don't normally find a floor you missed when you do HVAC or extermination or an extra engine with automotive. With anything in...

Bookkeeper went 4-7 hours over her estimate but didn’t check in before billing me

@tammyinga They never answered before so IDK. I think it makes a huge difference too tbh. I think it's probably the lower end. You get more problems and quibbling over bills there.

Bookkeeper went 4-7 hours over her estimate but didn’t check in before billing me

@tammyinga Giving an ultimatum to a bookkeeper or CPA at year end is extremely ill-advised. You have more to lose than they do. As someone who did payroll, if you did this, I would generously refund your money, give you back your original files, and you would get none of the work I did. Then...

Please help me analyze this boba tea franchise that I am considering to buy

@rongold $250,000 in store renovations Does the building not have a roof? Why are you paying for his renovations? Have you looked into franchises with more than 3 stores? What's the payroll? Your labor costs will be a lot of your expenses. Not a lawyer not legal/business advice.

Bookkeeper went 4-7 hours over her estimate but didn’t check in before billing me

@jro1 A lot of people are posting advice based on feelings and ego. I worked in payroll. Let's talk $. How much is her hourly fee? Are we talking 15/hr or 100? . This is a business. If she's bad at estimating and on the low end and is taking clients this late, I'd eat it and say absolutely...

My people here are being compensated with huge amounts from around 1 million dollars to 8 million dollars.

@sirsebastian What are they buying so far? Cars, houses, investments, etc? Litigation adjacent is also a good one lol. Do they have process servers? One of those would do well since everyone should be suing each other soon since it's ancestral property. You have NRI too.

@aksands00 While like with anything, there's fraud, it's a real thing in parts of India. "Ancestral properties" requires consent of 3 or 4 generations of family to sell. It's complex and sales can be held up years in litigation.
