Anyone done any VC meetings so far?

@jenniferd828 A good way to tell if a VC is serious (obviously not the level of TechStars or YC) is to see if they’ll sign an NDA after knowing enough if they want to invest or not. They always push back just a little, but every single one has agreed to sign.

Anyone done any VC meetings so far?

@jenniferd828 Don’t get lost in the product, they want traction. Give them a demo they can check out on their own time. We’ve only demoed once, because we were told they’d want to see it. When we did, we made sure it was 30 seconds. They more so wanted to make sure it existed honestly as they...

Feeling demotivated and a bit lost after applying to YC, anyone?

@valeska You probably are too early, here's the thing though. YC is not going to solve your problems, or this problem. You gotta do it yourself and find your own motivation. Raised a little over $1M as a pre seed after getting rejected from YC 3 times. AMA

@holysoul93 We haven't raised yet, but we're about to close our first round. We've learned a LOT, a small part of us wants to wait for the status of YC this time around after going leaps and bounds further than we were before but we may have to make a decision before we hear back. Very weird...

Advisor asking for 7%, is it normal?

@hangnon2jesus You seem to already know it's a bad idea. I've seen companies raise 30m like it's nothing that are significantly behind where we are. We won't give up ANY equity to anyone without a serious buy in and value shown first. If this person is so interesting and they can back it up...

    Your experience with 🍃

@deecruz Sober life in every form is the best way to build a company with a clear head. Not shaming anyone who smokes, but every person and most certainly founders I've met move slower from it. I used to smoke regularly, if was not good for decision making at all.
