Gratitude - Thank you! I’ve found a line of work I can be passionate about, thanks to all the support here!

@sisterdonna Good on you! Keep pushing that price though, roof cleaning can average between 150 and 200 an hour normally but this depends on your area and local competition. Don't be afraid to keep slowly raising your pricing until you find enough pushback to know the limit. After all you are...

Starting a jetski rental at 15

@marfamu How about a kayak rental business? Much simpler business model and a kayak can be paid off after 5 days of rentals roughly

$650 in gutter cleaning jobs booked - first weekend - I've never cleaned gutters before

OSHA is a little overkill for ladder stuff IMO but watch some YouTube videos on ladder safety of you're curious. Couldn't hurt

$650 in gutter cleaning jobs booked - first weekend - I've never cleaned gutters before

@justadog Yes that's correct. If your hands slip it's much easier to catch yourself than rungs at least that's what I learnt

$650 in gutter cleaning jobs booked - first weekend - I've never cleaned gutters before

@justadog Get ladder arms for stabilizing the top of your ladder and leg extensions to stabilize the bottom on sloped ground. Aside from that try not to rush and take your time. Keep 3 points of contact on ladder at all times and keep your hands BEHIND the side rails as you go up and down, not...

Starting a small mowing business to buy a pickup truck

@jerri I normally don't advocate for taking on debt but why not take out a lease on a used truck you'd want and then work hard to pay the lease off as fast as possible? I think you'd much prefer running something like that in a truck than a car or car and trailer. It might get a little rough...

$650 in gutter cleaning jobs booked - first weekend - I've never cleaned gutters before

@justadog Cougar paws are good when it's dry for sure. I'd recommend staying off the roof and use a ladder with a gutter tool on a pole. It will halve the amount of times you need to move the ladder increasing your speed while staying safe. It costs $50 with the pole and well worth it. Also get...

Do you consider your one-person operation a business?

@coldsummer Everyone can get sensitive on this one, but something I read once summed it up nicely: if you don't have any employees, you own your job. If you have employees, you own a business. There's nothing wrong with owning a job! The benefits are endless, we all know this. But taking on...

$650 in gutter cleaning jobs booked - first weekend - I've never cleaned gutters before

@justadog Please be careful. Coming from someone who has cleaned gutters as part of my business. You should try and work from a ladder instead of a roof. Get shoes with really good grips on them and don't go on shingles when they are wet or icey. Good luck out there

    Help with name suggestions

@muriels63 All Eyes isn't bad but I'd drop the Z on the EyeZ, it just comes off as a bit cheesy (no offense meant). It will also mean you have to spell it out everytime you're giving someone your web address or an email address. At the end of the day having the perfect name is not as important...
