Description: Researchers are currently using a very labor intensive process to culture human cells to perform cutting edge research. The current cell culturing process is highly analogue, wasting the researcher’s time with simple tasks such as feeding, removal of waste, and imaging the cells. This results in one researcher spending twenty hours per week, running a single 5 day culture; when he/she could be using that time for analysis of results. The Obruza Cell System by Nestegg Biotech is the solution to this problem.

Our product, the Obruza Cell System, is the first and only fully integrated laboratory automation tool which combines a dynamic, software-controlled sample environment with powerful imaging and real-time data collection. The Obruza Cell System represents a new paradigm in cell biology research. Compared to its competitors, the Obruza integrates all of the tasks associated with cell culturing while adding automated live cell imaging, all via a computer controlled user-tailored experimental profile, allowing for more complex experiments while maintaining ease of reproducibility. It creates a closely modeled in vivo environment for studying sensitive nerve, brain, and other human cells for research.

Details: We just completed Startupbootcamp Smart Materials, a business accelerator on the Brightlands Chemlot campus in Geleen, Netherlands. The company is made up of four co-founders with skills in engineering, finance, and biology. The company has additional members and mentors with specialized skills in tissue engineering, optics, laser applications, biomedical software, business development, grant/proposal writing, and small scale manufacturing. The team recently received grant funding from the Limburg Business Development Fund for the purpose of validating a vascularized tissue product. The company is currently in late product development stage and is seeking additional seed funds.

Looking For: We just launched an equity based crowdfunding campaign on leapfunder.com. To learn more about our campaign visit Nesteggbiotech.

What We Can Do For You We have participated in two separate accelerator programs. The first being focused in developing prototypes and the second being focused on business development and taking your product to market. We have also participated and won multiple startup competitions and have had two successful grant submissions. We are now familiar with doing business in both Europe and the United States. We would love to answer any questions and assist you with anything you may need about starting a company, accelerators, or anything related. We can tell you all about it and offer guidance. We would love to hear from you!
