I am 25M and would like to start my own business. Confused b/w Gym and Cafe

So the location am planning to start my business has quite a few gyms running already and 2-3 colleges/school withing 2km range. Residential too. I can't find good cafes nearby and this will be my first business. Please give your input.

@awkwardintrovert Cafes are difficult to operate, there are a lot of regulations and licences required to run one. If you know what you are doing then go for it. Best of luck.

@awkwardintrovert Talk to some cafe and gym owners with the size that you're expecting to develop. Understand the investment needed and profit margin

@awkwardintrovert Cafes and restaurants usually run into losses. Very few become profitable in long run. Have no idea about Gyms.

@awkwardintrovert With school/colleges around and already 2-3 gyms, I would suggest you go for cafe but with unique approach. Open a library cum cafe. Invest in some good fictional/non fictional and academics books targeting college students and 11-12 students. Make you place comfortable with investment in comfortable chairs and study table.

This way you can charge for Library (say ₹500-600/ month) plus income from food and beverage sold.
