Hey peeps! I am actually still a final year student in my university but I was given the chance to start a new company with a business co-founder here in Malaysia.
So at first, my dumb mind decided to randomly just make a open source / fine tuning LLM wrapper MVP as kinda of a joke in the beginning (not sure if drunk or not) . But somehow it gained traction around my university and my friends started using it in class. We got to around 100+ users as of now as a result which is quite funny.
So thinking of this, I saw a huge potential in this region (Southeast Asia) for a huge AI SaaS targeted towards the use case of academic research/documentation. My plan is to use open source models/LLMs and combining it with research journal APIs like Arxiv etc for data, but at the same time having features like you would find in https://www.litmaps.com or https://www.heuristi.ca to make academic research/documentation enjoyable for all. I would have no shame in promoting this or make a proposal to partner with universities in this region to make this happen. LETSGO MAN IM HYPED HAHAHAHAHA
We will need more technical manpower as there is only 2 of us in the company right now, we will require a technical co-founder / CTO to join our team and develop the SaaS idea. I am extremely open-minded for comprehensive discussions on equity, culture, etc. (plus, I am busy as well trying to balance final year academic life with everything hahaha).
Meanwhile, I have been applying to accelerator programs in China, Korea, etc. If the stars align then it would be a very exciting journey together
