9 months ago, a friend (/@aurel1a) and I started working on a web tool which aims to improve the document translation experience for both companies and translators.

We both come from a desktop publication background, so ended up working on a tool we would like to use for our everyday job.

We first started working on it on our spare time and weekends, but eventually, this April, we decided to quit our jobs and start the journey.

On the 16th of June we released the public website https://redokun.com and signed up on Betalist (still waiting for validation).

We ended up finding two different types of potential clients: translators and companies who need to translate/localize their documents.

Understanding our client base

To better understand our clients needs - in a global scenario - and to start to reach out to them, we have written two surveys that we are going to post on specialized Facebook groups and in the following subreddits:
We’ve also created a Twitter account @getredokun (Follow us :)), but we are still figuring out which strategy to use on Twitter.

Reaching out to people

Some really good advice is: “Talk to people”. This is helping us to understand all our clients needs.

So, what’s next? Any thoughts? What do you think about the project?
