YC competitors & other accelerators currently accepting applications

    @fred5508 It’s not about the 20k, it’s everything else.

YC competitors & other accelerators currently accepting applications

@alamal1 If they ultimately help your startup succeed. The 20k is just play money

YC competitors & other accelerators currently accepting applications

@fred5508 Yes, but it’s about the next round of funding that makes it worthwhile.

YC competitors & other accelerators currently accepting applications

@rosina This is great. I think f6s also has a list on their website, but it’s the lesser known ones. Also the deadlines are not always so strict. I missed the recent tech stars Oakland by a day and wrote to them to ask if I could still submit and they said yes. Then I submitted a day after that...

    YC v/s Antler Residency

@%C3%90oan9919 How many unicorns have Antler founders produced? Are you sure about the 250+250? I think it’s only residency stipend + 250k

Follow up: 86% of S23 is based in the Bay Area

@zedrick Yeah, but maybe 86% of the applications were like me and came from folks in the Bay Area and we didn’t get in. Or maybe I’m the only loser in the Bay Area. Didn’t go to MIT, but one of those other big schools in Cambridge.

How Duolingo A/B Tested Their Way into a $6.4 Billion Worth With Its Freemium Model

@evangelisticseverline Duolingo is the greatest success story in Ed Tech! All the major social gaming apps use A/B testing for product decisions, and it’s power has been known long before Duolingo existed. But I think they’re the first in Ed Tech to take full advantage.

This is how YC works. "We accept idea stage" is a partial myth that gives regular people hope

@aliciaew Life is biased for elite people. Just ignore and keep building.

Tax time for new C corp with 0 revenue

@victor3 Ok, didn’t know about it. In the meantime I hired someone on upwork to prepare the 1120 and file for $200.

My tips to rank 1st on Product Hunt as a solopreneur

@cassandra77 Great! Also want to note that PH never responded to any of my attempts to reach them via their site support chat or even personal emails to their support managers. They don’t care about small accounts and have many bugs/glitches on their site and my attempted launch there was a...

    Anyone hear from Sequoia Arc?

@truthseeker2022 I haven’t heard anything either. Also waiting on 500 global and Techstars Oakland. Those applications were even longer ago

YC mods scrubbing posts they don't like

@greekorthodox123456 I hope it’s not scrubbed. Good or bad let’s see what people are thinking. One day will may all just be sanitized AI’s. Free thought and able to express our opinions is what makes us human… flawed and all.

My tips to rank 1st on Product Hunt as a solopreneur

@cassandra77 They have many gaps. I filled in the form on your site and didn’t hear back. Is it a manual review process?

My tips to rank 1st on Product Hunt as a solopreneur

@cassandra77 Well done. You are beating product hunt at their own game.

Y Combinator removes Indian startup from batch over 'irregularities'

@lucyflora I wonder if YC can get their 500k back?

Tax time for new C corp with 0 revenue

We created a c corp with clerky last year but have zero revenue, no employees, but we put money in via safes to pay for contractors and other software expenses. I believe we are still required to file an 1120, but is there any simple software tool like turbo tax to help us do this?

San Francisco Unsafe for YC founders

@pmsh There are plenty of safe areas and SF is still a fantastic world class city that tourists flock too. More than the crime situation, it is a bit disheartening to see the large numbers of homeless people just about everywhere. The governor at least seems serious about cracking down on drug...
