I made a website that can find sports arbitrages

@keepimguy Really cool project! If I were you, before monetisation I would implement the authentication stuff. Then give everyone a limited amount of bets to show for free accounts, and charge for vip membership.

Imagine a screen where user sees a 10 game list as results, but on top of it an indicator saying “there are 5 more games available for VIP members, up to 2% margin” . If this vip thing works then try to add more benefits like “vip members get bets for today, vip+ members get bets for a week from now on” .

I would use betting site coupons as a part of your FTUE like “you don’t have a membership on William hill? Use one of these codes and get a 20£ kickstart”

I’m a specialist on monetisation in mobile games (yes one of the bad guys) if you want to have a chat ping me!

@jacob1234 Hmmmm I'm really leaning towards the access key thing. I know its a bit unconventional but I can implement the same thing with limiting arbs shown - I just have to have the option for a free access key or a paid one. I will ask around to some colleagues and people I went to university with and see what they think.

Ill look into those coupons - however I dont know if those betting sites will let me

@keepimguy Are you in a region where you can't make these bets? i've been looking into sports betting recently and arbitrage is an established method so i'm quite surprised you aren't doing this yourself. Even if you find make on average $30 a day and 5 days a week that's ~$600 a month which you could mostly automate. After a few months, if you can raise the stakes by 10x, that's ~$6000 monthly and 72k annually which is ridiculously good given it's no/low risk

@justin1234 I am in Australia, I find the arbitrages aren't that good in my region, but there are definitely opportunities. I only found out about arbitrage betting about a month ago. Its a bit hard to explain but I get so much more of a kick out of creating this site than arbitrage betting - I love the code/data analytics etc and having people use software I build

@keepimguy When I try it on soccer games, nothing happens. I assume it found nothing and just not handling it properly?

Also, as someone who used to work in a large UK betting company a couple of things:

The traders will be checking the exchange websites to check for discrepancies and usually compensate quickly, so that might be a factor you need to consider.

BUT it can still happen if you're early/fast enough.

Also, if you are successful betting companies will informally mark you up as an Arber in your account. Most often, they'll let you carry on betting, but you'll probably have a spend limited imposed.

@midnite11 Yeah so that means it didnt find any arbitrages for the sport you selected. I need to add something in to tell users that results weren't found.

Yeah certainly have to be quick - but I do find the arbitrages stick around for a bit then go.

Yeah sounds like maybe you can make a bit of money for a while and then you get limited, is what it is I guess!

@dang91 Hey thanks for bringing this up, I am going to look into this and I will get back to you - site is still under construction/in testing so definitely going to be issues
