Is $5,000 cheap for building a SaaS?

@dillon1886 The answer is much like my underwear.

Depends.

Can you give us some idea of what your app does?

If it's a real-time stock trading app, it's way too low.

If it's a blog, then you're getting ripped off.

@dillon1886 Like everyone else says, it depends. But to put it in perspective I got a quote to put in a fence at my house, 10 grand for 2-3 days of work. Maybe your developer should be in the fence business. Personally, idk if I’d pick up the phone for $5k.

@dillon1886 This really does depend what it is. I built a full
SaaS for much much less (Personal project) and I sold a SaaS for 25 times that. Literally the gap there is so big I cant answer without knowing what it is. Sounds reasonable.

@dillon1886 If you’re talking about a direct to consumer Saas, which typically consists of a frontend application, a user portal, an admin portal, and a core service, then 5,000 wouldn’t even cover 10% of the build.

Everyone else in this post seems to be talking about micro Saas companies, because a real company or service cannot be built in 4-6 weeks
