@cliff19 No no. Just do a google search for BNI "your city". You'll see what groups exist, sign up to be a visitor to the one that is closest to you/most convenient for you. You can visit each chapter twice. When you're ready, you can apply. It costs (and it isn't what most people would consider cheap), but you're virtually guaranteed to earn that back quite quickly from referrals.
